Artist's Comments

well here's what i've been working on, i think its a good piece, and its good practice for this damn 300dpi. I feel there's something off in this piece, but i can't put my finger on it to fix it. i really like the piece anyways because it was a good lot of all my favorite characters. Nightcrawler and cyclops, my 2 favorite x-men, this is the first time i draw thor and she-hulk and they came out pretty cool. and cloak and dagger have a place in my heart since forever, don't ask, i can't explain it, i just really enjoy them.

comments and critiques welcome. hope you all can enjoy it.

edit: i was able to fix some of the stuff that bothered me so i'm happier with the piece.

This is a very cool piece. Thor and Captain America's heads look a little lopsided, so that would be one thing to fix. Also, the whole picture looks a little washed-out, so you may want to darken it in some places to give the light and dark sections more contrast (e.g. Captain America looks baby-blue all over instead of dark blue in the shadows and light blue in the light). Finally, darkening either the fore- or background might give it more of a sense of depth. Over all, very cool work, and clearly many hours of it!

thank you very much on the crits, i see exactly what you mean now, i was going to lighten the background a bit, but i had some trouble in the sense that i could change the lines to gray because if i did multiply would fuck shit up... (proving my photoshop ineptitude.) the contrast is something that is also a really good point... i'll get to that too maybe by tomorrow. thank you!

Glad to help! What you can do is make a new layer on top of the background and work from that one so that your lines appear above the multiplied layer. As for the contrast, you can do levels (ctrl-l) or take a shot at the color balance (ctrl-b) or variations (under Edit, I believe?). Good luck, and let me know how it turns out - I'd love to see it after your edits. Feel free to ask me if you have PS questions, too.

Composition works nice, but this'd be awesome if it would've been in fish-eye perspective. Iron Man's face seems kind of... sharp or something, I dunno. Really awesome though. +FAV

WHERE'S SUPERMAN?!?! Hehehe, j/k~

I love it! My only critique is Nightcrawler's purple farts~ By the looks of it, he instantly travelled to 4 areas in the picture. Maybe drawing the poofs of smoke misting and diminishing to show where he was first and travelled to in order.

ok i almost thought dagger was emma frost then i noticed cloak...so phew....hahahah...very good except one thing...i would have put more detail into iron man's repulsors.... i almost didnt notice he was in the air....so yea very good still

not bad man...good choice of characters too
